Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Timothy Barnes, and I am proud to introduce myself as the new Principal of Dolgeville Elementary School. As a graduate of Dolgeville Central, Class of 1997, this community has always held a very special place in my heart. The dedicated teachers and staff who came before me encouraged and prepared me to pursue a career in education and leadership. The DCS vision of "Sending All Students into the World Well Prepared” has proven true, and I am honored to now continue that tradition for our students.
This year marks my 24th year in education. Over the years, I have served as a physical education teacher, coach, Athletic Director/Dean of Students, and most recently as a High School Principal at OESJ. Through these experiences, I have learned that the best solutions are found when schools and families work together. Parents and educators are true partners in giving every child the best education possible.
My goal is for Dolgeville Elementary to always be a place that is safe, fun, and engaging—where students are supported, challenged, and excited to learn. We are fortunate to have an outstanding staff who always put students first, and I am eager to support their efforts in creating meaningful learning opportunities.
I also want you to know that my door is always open. I welcome your ideas, questions, and input on how we can continue to improve the educational experience for the children of this district.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our students, staff, and families, and I look forward to working together to make this a wonderful school year.
