Dear Dolgeville School Community Members,
We would like to share the following information with you as it impacts both the school and village transportation routes:
School Construction: Beginning on Monday, November 2nd and through Friday, November 6th, the Slawson Street One Way Drop Off Road will be closed. This closure is necessary so that underground conduit and electrical wiring can be installed under the ground and across the road. This work is part of our capital project electrical upgrades and includes work with National Grid. We understand that this closure will pose an inconvenience, but it is necessary. We ask that all vehicles please use the Slawson Street parking lot as a point of entry and use a parking space to park and walk your child(ren) to the crosswalk and into school. Please do not use the parking lot as a drop off lane. Thank you in advance as we move forward with this section of our electrical upgrades - we have been at the mercy of National Grid and are only now able to proceed with this section of work. Also, the following week (11/9 to 11/13), we will then focus on the Beaver Street Extension Road work at the top of the hill, but this work should NOT impact traffic at all.
Village Construction: Beginning Thursday, November 5th and through Monday, November 16th, the State Route 29 Steel Bridge next to Stewarts will be closed as part of the Bridge Project. The District is making accommodations, accordingly, to transport students to and from school that are impacted.
Please contact me directly at extension 3500 if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and cooperation!
Sincerely,
Joseph J. Gilfus, Superintendent of Schools
