Guidelines for the DTA Scholarship:
Each year the Dolgeville Teachers’ Association presents selected graduating seniors with DTA Award Scholarships. Multiple awards will be given and the awards will total the amount of $3,000. The individual award amounts will be decided after the interview segment of the selection process. Chosen recipients will receive his or her award in two installments. The first half of the payment is given when the student enrolls in college. The second half is given when the student returns for the second semester of college.
To be eligible for the award a student must be a 2026 graduate of Dolgeville Central School and must be planning on post-high school education and/or training in the fall of 2026. In determining the winners of the award, the scholarship committee considers the student’s record of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and character, as well as the potential for success in his/her chosen field.
To apply for the award, you must have an overall average of 85 or greater. Submit an essay describing why you feel deserving of a DTA Scholarship. Include information about the activities you have been involved in here at Dolgeville Central School and activities away from school. Describe how these activities have shaped your character and exemplify who you are. Explain your plan for further education and how that education fits into your plans for the future. Your submission will be assessed on each of the components mentioned above as well as the quality of your written work.
Submit a typed and double-spaced essay to Mrs. Farquhar digitally via Google Docs. Change your sharing settings from “Restricted” to “Dolgeville Central School” so the scholarship committee can see your essay submission. Essays are due by 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 30th, 2026. Be sure to include a digital copy of your senior picture after your essay as well.
