On Tuesday, March 1, Dolgeville Central School District voters approved a $15.8 million capital project that includes maintenance and renovations to aging facilities, upgrades to the bus garage and athletic facilities.

The $15.8 million project included two propositions. Voters approved the first proposition, 331 to 74, which includes extensive work at the school building, bus garage, and field upgrades. The second proposition - which includes enhanced athletic facility work - was approved 279 to 124.

“We’d like to thank all of the voters who came out today and supported the district,” said Superintendent Joseph Gilfus.

“This project provides much needed renovations and upgrades to our facilities that include the completion of our heating system and conversion from steam to hot water with efficient HVAC upgrades, new boilers, controls and unit ventilators, replacing aging sections of our roof, addressing damaged brick and mortar, and properly expanding the distribution of our emergency power. We are also pleased that we are able to now address our bus garage needs that have been long overdue, and offer our transportation department a much improved space to address their daily needs. And finally, with a new outside state-of-the-art multi-use complex, Dolgeville will be in great position to offer both school and community groups a facility that not only meets the demands of our school community, but also gives our school community an outdoor facility to be most proud of.

We are most grateful to our entire school community for their support of this project and we are confident that our school community will be pleased by the end result of this project and what it will ultimately provide our students and programs.”

Work on the approved project will begin during the summer of 2023 and conclude around September, 2024.
