The Dolgeville Elementary Student Council does many things to help the School and community.
- Some of the things they do are as follows.
- Each member takes a turn doing the morning announcements.
- In October they honor the board of Education with a cake and flowers during Board appreciation week.
- They also help out with picture day in the fall, spring and they pay for each 6th grade student to have a panoramic picture of the sixth grade class to keep at the promotion
ceremony.
- In December each member makes a Christmas card for each resident at Park Side courts and takes a trip there to sing Christmas carols to entertain them.
- In January they sell Tee Shirts to raise money.
- In March, Students Council holds a fund raiser - collecting pet supplies for the Herkimer Humane Society to help them out.
- At Easter time they hold a Jelly Bean Contest for the 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The student with the closest guess gets to keep the jar of jelly beans.
- Studnet Council is now in the second year of a four year project - buying 4 new tables a year for the kindergarten rooms. Each year one Kindergarten room receives 4 new
tables. At the end of the 4 years, all 4 kindergarten classrooms will have brand new tables.
- All year they sponsor Trash for Cash program-collecting used ink cartridges to recycle and collecting Campbell soup labels.
- In May and June the students are rewarded for all the work they do through out the year by going on a trip and going to Arthur's for lunch one day.
These students work very hard to help out at the school and community.
