PURPOSE: In this class students will investigate the wonderful world of science by performing activities that involve hand-on work, reading, reacting, writing, charting/graphing, and understanding results. The units of study are divided into the following areas:
1. Health (cells, tissues, organs, systems) 2. Violent Weather 3. Ring of Fire 4. Biomes 5. Electricity and Energy 6. The solar system and Beyond 7. Remaining Health Concepts
MATERIALS: Students will be provided mini-texts, notes, and handouts throughout the year, Each student should have a one-subject notebook, folder, pen, and pencil for class.
GRADING SYSTEM: 1/3 - homework, labs, projects, and notebook 1/3 - quizzes 1/3 tests |
