Welcome to Kindergarten! I’ve been teaching at DES for 21 years. Twelve of those years have been spent in kindergarten. My husband and I have two sons and we reside in Herkimer. Life is happy and busy! When my sons started school I hoped they would have a caring and nurturing teacher who would be patient and help them to become confident, self-sufficient, and successful. I will surely do my best to give your child the same TLC while they are away from you. Having a positive attitude toward school and life in general is essential. What do you say when your child says, “I can’t”? Well, I tell all my kindergarten kids that those words don’t belong in my class. I believe that all children CAN. Some of them might need a lot of help and it may take them longer to reach success, but I instill in the children that they CAN do whatever they put their mind to. Remember, you are your child’s first teacher. We have to work together. I encourage you to read my newsletters that are sent home on Mondays and write any comments you may have in your child’s notebook. You can also leave me a message on my voicemail - ext. #540.
